With an aim for a clean and healthy Karimnagar, Mr. Gangula Kamalakar, the Backward Class (BC) Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister of Telangana, laid the foundation stone for a traffic island construction.

On the 21st of February, Tuesday, Mr. Gangula Kamalakar laid the foundation stone of the new construction, which would be done at the Old Power House Junction, in Karimnagar.

At the event, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Minister said that steps are being taken to make Karimnagar the 2nd largest and most clean and healthy city after Hyderabad.  Mr. Gangula Kamalakar said, “Construction of 13 new islands with modern designs would be undertaken to provide a pleasant environment for the city dwellers.”

Speaking about the construction, the Telangana Minister said, out of 13 intersections, tenders for seven intersections have been completed so far and construction work has started.  Furthermore, the K. Chandrashekar Rao led Telangana Government would accept tenders for another 6 intersections soon.  For the project, the BRS Government sanctioned an amount of Rs. 2.68 crores, whereas the work of the 13 intersections would be completed by the 31st of March, 2023.

The construction of the island traffic in Karimnagar would improve the traffic system and the living standards of the residents of Karimnagar.  The construction work of the cable bridge approach roads was going on and the BT works of the cable bridge approach road has started at Sadashiv Palli.
