After Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, the famous celebrity singer Shreya Ghoshal also took the Green India Challenge, initiated by the Telangana Government.

Recently, Ms. Shreya Ghoshal also took part in the Green India Challenge (GIC) initiative and planted saplings at the Financial District in Gachibowli.  She was accompanied by Mr. J. Santosh Kumar, the  Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP,) representing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS.)  Launched in 2019 by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government, the Green India Challenge aims to encourage citizens to plant saplings and take responsibility for the environment.  The challenge has been embraced by many celebrities, including Mahesh Babu, Prabhas and Rana Daggubati.  Many BRS leaders and ministers also adopted land in the State forest and planted saplings under the Green India Challenge.

On the 1st of May, Monday, Ms. Shreya Ghoshal planted a sapling and praised the GIC initiative.  She further extended gratitude to Mr. J. Santosh Kumar for giving her the opportunity to be a part of the cause, improving the environment. 

Ms. Shreya Ghoshal said, “I feel blessed and proud to be taking part in this unique initiative.  Planting saplings and allowing them to grow is the only way to increase green cover and conserve the environment.  Planting and taking care of trees is a great social responsibility.” 

Shreya Ghoshal participated in the GIC initiative after accepting the nomination from yet another top playback singer Mr. Shankar Mahadevan.
