On the 25th of November, Thursday, Mr. Rakesh Tikait, the Bharatiya Kisan Union leader (BKU) conducted the ‘Maha Dharna’ in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC), Telangana, organised the Maha Dharna to mark the one year anniversary of the farmers’ agitation. The event was also organised across India to celebrate the historic victory of the farmers whose movement resulted in the repeal of the three farm laws.

During the dharna, Mr. Rakesh Tikait criticised Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and his Party, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS.) He called Mr. K Chandrashekar Rao and his party the “B team” of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP.)

He asked the people of Telangana to ‘tie’ Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, so he doesn’t help the BJP.

This is not the first time Mr. Rakesh Tikait slashed the Telangana political parties. In the past, he criticised the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi. He called him BJP’s ‘chacha jaan’, alleging him of being in support of the BJP on the farmers issue.

He asked the farmers of Telangana to understand the unity and the political game of the parties, using farmers’ issues to dethrone each other. He asked farmers to unite against the TRS, the BJP and the AIMIM, in terms of farmers’ issues.

Taking a dig at the recent announcement of the KCR Government, of providing Rs. 3 Lakh to farmers who lost lives while protesting against the Three Farm Laws, Rakesh Tikait asked, “What about the farmers of Telangana who are dying due to loans?” He also highlighted the suffering of the State farmers over the ongoing paddy procurement issue between the TRS and the BJP.

The protest was organised at the Hyderabad Dharna Chowk, Hyderabad.
