The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President in Telangana Bandi Sanjay Kumar, on the 17th of December, announced to implement EWS Reservation.

The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Reservation is a Central scheme for the EWS of the society. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in India is a subcategory of people belonging to the General Category having an annual family income less than Rs. 8 lakhs and one who do not belong to any category such as SC/ST/OBC.

The Narendra Modi led Union Government (BJP) implemented 10% reservation to EWS, especially students and youths in India.

During a press meet, Mr. Sanjay said the Central Government announced to provide EWS reservations to the upper caste poor in various states.

However, in Telangana the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government is doing injustice by not implementing EWS reservations.

Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar announced a statewide movement on the implementation of reservations for the upper caste poor.

Mr. Kumar criticised K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana and the President of the TRS of being anti upper caste poor.

He asked the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government, why they are not implementing the EWS reservations.

Mr. Kumar said, “Why is Chief Minister KCR in favor of poor people? KCR is conspiring to suppress the top caste poor from getting up. KCR is pushing the poor into poverty by giving positions to the upper caste elders and showing stubbornness to the poor.” He further said, “What is his objection when the entire country is implementing the Act? What has he against the poor? Our party will take up the issue and protest for the implementation.”

According to the BJP the non implementation of the EWS reservations so far caused severe injustice to nearly 65,000 poor Other Class students.
