On the 11th of November, Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest against the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Government.

Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the President of the BJP of Telangana unit and BJP cadres staged a protest, demanding the TRS Government to buy paddy from farmers.

In regard to this, the BJP organised several rallies across the State with the participation of BJP cadres in big numbers. Interacting with district party presidents, in charges and heads of various morchas at the state party headquarters, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar asked Mr. K. Chandrashekar Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana, why they are not procuring paddy produced by the farmers of Telangana.

He said, what is the hesitation of the TRS Government in buying paddy, when the Central Government assured to acquire 60 lakh metric tonnes. In addition, the BJP led Central Government assured Rs. 1,960 as Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy apart from bearing the expenses of gunny bags, transport and godown storage charges among other expenses.

Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar highlighted the difficulties of farmers due to paddy delivery delays. He expressed outrage that the TRS blamed the Centre for the procurement issue, when the State Government itself is not buying the paddy produced by the farmers of Telangana.

Therefore, in order to put pressure on the KCR Government, the BJP conducted rallies at district collector offices in Telangana.

The rallies and demonstrations by the BJP are underway in various regions of Telangana.
