There would be no change in the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Telangana, confirmed Mr. Tarun Chugh, the BJP National General Secretary and Party in charge.

On the 28th of June, Wednesday, Mr. Tarun Chugh ruled out any change in the state leadership of the party and clarified that there is no plan to appoint a new President for the BJP Telangana unit.  He dismissed all the rumors that the BJP is planning to remove Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar as the BJP President in Telangana.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Mr. Tarun Chugh said, “How will there be a change at this stage?” 

The rumors that the BJP is mulling to replace Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar came after Mr. Eatala Rajender, a leader of the BJP and others expressed disappointment with Sanjay’s leadership.  The section of media also mentioned that Mr. G. Kishan Reddy, the Union State Home Minister of Telangana, would take over as the BJP President in Telangana.  However, the recent statement of Mr. Tarun Chugh cleared that there would be no changes in the leadership and that Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar would continue as the BJP President in Telangana.

Notably, the rumors came at a time when the Telugu State of Telangana is set to contest the 2023 State Assembly elections.  In this elections, the BJP is eyeing on the winning and wish to dethrone the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and form the Government.
