Mahender Reddy, the Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana, on the 5th of August, issued a high alert in Telangana.

The high alert in the State was issued after the Ministry of Home Affairs of India asked all the states in India to be on high alert, post the revocation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

DGP Reddy asked all the commissioners and superintendents of police (SPs) across Telangana to intensify the patrolling in sensitive and hypersensitive areas.

The Telangana Police also deployed police personnel in the Old City and prepared for any incident in the area.  They are also focussing on anti social elements through the installation of pickets.

V.C. Sajjanar, the Police Commissioner of Cyberabad, said they already implemented Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC,) which restricts any public gatherings in Cyberabad.
