On Sunday, Amazon filed a complaint with the Kothur Police alleging that Amazon employees have apparently stolen laptops from the warehouse of the e-marketing giant. The Panjerla Warehouse at Kothur in Hyderabad is the biggest warehouse of the Country and has laptops worth Rs. 20 lakhs missing in the warehouse. The e-commerce giant first carried out an internal inquiry before making an official complaint with the police.

Y. Naga Subba Reddy the Amazon Fulfilment Centre (FC) in charge on Friday mentioned in the complaint with the police that this incident came to light after an internal audit was done on February 15. SI A. Srisailam, speaking to the press said, “The internal audit revealed that five employees had stolen laptops worth over Rs. 20 lakhs. When the workers were asked, some returned stolen laptops, but others did not.”

An Amazon representative speaking about the incident said that 20 HP laptops and 16 Apple Mac’s were missing. The SI said, “The stolen laptops are to be delivered to customers. Amazon officials said they will come back with the exact list of stolen items on Monday.”
A case under IPC section 380 has been registered that is theft in a building. The police are conducting a thorough interrogation in regard to this in and outside the organization.
