Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the All India Majlis e Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) asked the party leaders to stay away from civic issues in Karnataka.

On the 25th of April, Monday, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi addressed the AIMIM leaders and advised the corporators and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) leaders not to interfere in civic issues unnecessarily.  The advice from the AIMIM Chief came after the arrest of a few AIMIM corporators including Mr. Nazir Ahmed Honyal in Hubballi of Karnataka over the stone pelting incident.

During an event in Hyderabad, Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi said the AIMIM aims to serve the people but to create problems for them.   He further added that the Party would not tolerate if AIMIM party image is tarnished. He informed that it is true that the party corporator Nazir Ahmed Honyal was arrested on April 23 after a pic of the Saffron flag on a masjid went viral on social media which led to mob stone pelting in Hubballi of Karnataka where a few policemen were injured.

The police had arrested a few party supporters along with Nazir Ahmed Honyal and a few from Congress as well.  Mr. Owaisi said that he is aware that the corporator and the party supporters have nothing to do with the incident and are innocent but he has left it to Law to take its course of action on the incident.

The meeting was held in the Old Hyderabad, on the 25th of April, Monday.
