Mr. Virat Kohli, the former Indian Cricket Team Captain, has another feather in his cap, as he entered the elite list of five best batters in Indian Cricket History.

During the second day of the first Test match in Dominica, Kohli’s unbeaten knock of 36 runs, made him surpass Virender Sehwag’s tally, and let him secure his position as India’s fifth-highest run-getter in Test cricket. 

With this achievement, Virat Kohli continues to build an impressive legacy in the red ball format. With his consistent performances, Virat Kohli has become a stalwart in Indian cricket. 

In his 110 Test matches, he has amassed a staggering 8,504 runs, surpassing Virender Sehwag’s previous record of 8,503 runs.  The milestone was crossed after Virat Kohli’s patient innings of 36 runs came off 96 deliveries, adorned with a single four.

With his recent achievement, Virat Kohli joins the elite company of India’s top Test run-getters. His current tally of 8,504 runs places him in fifth position. The esteemed names preceding him include Virender Sehwag (8,503,) Sourav Ganguly (7,212,) Cheteshwar Pujara (7,195,) Dilip Vengsarkar (6,868), and Mohammad Azharuddin (6,215.)
