After Virat Kohli’s recent resignation as the Test Captain of th Indian Cricket Team, Indian skipper KL Rahul’s name popped up for Test Captaincy.

However, former Indian Cricket Dilip Vengsarkar suggested two other names, suitable for the position.  Addressing a media source, Mr. Dilip said, “It may be a practical idea to have a stop gap arrangement with Rohit Sharma, or even Ravichandran Ashwin for a year and so and groom someone else meanwhile.”

Recently, on the 15th of January, Indian Cricket Team Captain and Test series Captain, Virat Kohli stepped down as Test Captain. With the resignation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have a big task to appoint a new Test Captain.  While K.L Rahul has been news headline for possibly being the next Test Series Captain, Mr. Dilip Vengsarkar had a different opinion.  He said, “Interestingly, my committee was faced with a similar situation when Rahul Dravid stepped down from captaincy and we had a demanding Australia tour round the corner. Some felt that MS Dhoni, who was leading in the shorter format, be promoted but we went ahead with Anil Kumble who did a fantastic job.”

However, an official discussion would be taken by the BCCI.  Notably, the BCCI is expected to announce new Test Captain after the South Africa One Day International (ODI) match.
