The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced Mr. Rohit Sharma as the Test Captain for the upcoming Sri Lanka series.

After being announced as white-ball captain, Rohit Sharma has now been named as full-time red ball captain. On the 19th of February, Saturday, the BCCI Committee Chairman Chetan Sharma said, the decision was taken by the BCCI.

The 34-year-old Rohit Sharma would lead the upcoming Sri Lanka Test series, starting from the 1st of March. With this match, it would be Rohit Sharma’s first time that he would be full-time Test captain of the Indian Cricket Team.

Besides Rohit Sharma’s captaincy announcement, the BCCI announced the squad of the Indian Cricket Team, in the Sri Lanka test match.

The BCCI took to Twitter and posted, “T20I squad – Rohit Sharma (C), Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, Surya Kumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan (wk), Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Chahar, Deepak Hooda, R Jadeja, Y Chahal, R Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohd. Siraj, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah(VC), Avesh Khan.”

The BCCI also announced Test Match squad: Rohit Sharma (C,) Jasprit Bumrah (VC,) Priyank Panchal, Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Hanuma Vihari, Shubhman Gill, Rishabh Pant (wk,) K.S. Bharath, R. Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, R. Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Sourabh Kumar, Mohd. Siraj, Umesh Yadav and Mohd. Shami.

The three T20 Internationals would be held in Dharamshala and Lucknow, whereas two Test matches would be held in Mohali and Bengaluru.
