On the 13th of February, the mega Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 auction concluded in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

The two days auction event was scheduled in Bengaluru, Karnataka, ahead of the 15th edition, 2022 IPL match. In the auction, approximately 204 players including 67 overseas players were sold to 10 IPL teams.

Besides players across India, 15 cricketers from Hyderabad also participated, of which 4 players were picked by IPL teams; Mumbai Indians (MI,) Royal Bengal Challengers (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK.) The four players selected for the IPL 2022 are N. Thakur (MI,) Rahul Buddhi (MI,) Tilak Verma (CSK) and C.V. Milind (RCB.)

The IPL teams spent an amount worth Rs. 551.7 crore, for 204 players during the two day auction. Of the total bid, Ishan Kishan emerged as the most expensive player in the auction with Rs. 15.25 crore by MI.

Other players who were picked by teams worth over Rs 10 crores are: Deepak Chahar (Rs. 14 crore) Chennai Super Kings, Shreyas Iyer (Kolkata Knight Riders) worth Rs. 12.25 crore, overseas player Liam Livingston (Rs.11.50 crore) by Punjab Kings XI. In addition, Shardul Thakur was sold to Delhi Capitals for Rs. 10.75 crores, Harshal Patel (Rs.10.75 crores) to RCB, Wannindhu Hasaranga (Rs.10.75 crores) to RCB, Nicholas Pooran (Rs.10.75 crores) to Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In addition, this time, two new IPL teams, Lucknow SuperGiants and Gujarat Titans would be playing the 2022 IPL game, scheduled to be held in India.

Besides two new teams, eights existing IPL teams are: Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Royal Bengal Challengers, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings XI, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders.
