The Commonwealth Games 2022 kick-started on the 29th of July, Friday. Day one of the grand events is packed with women’s cricket, hockey, and badminton from the Indian Contingent.
Highlighting day one for the Indian contingent, the women’s cricket team would square off against Australia while the women’s hockey team will face Ghana. In addition, the mixed badminton team would also be in action in the evening scheduled tournaments.
In terms of boxing, Shiva Thapa, Sumit Kundu, Ashish Kumara, and Rohit Tokas have their bouts lined up for today.
Speaking of the schedule, India started to campaign at 1:00 P.M., with a lawn bowls event.
In addition, more than 5,000 athletes from 72 countries would compete in 280 events across 19 sports in 15 venues in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.
The 2022 Common Wealth Games which started on the 29th of July, would continue till the 8th of August.
