BCCI Issues COVID-19 Advisory Amid Ongoing IPL

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI,) issued a set of guidelines and advisory for the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.

On the 6th of April, Thursday, the BCCI issued the guidelines, amid the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the 16th edition, which started on the 31st of March.  In the issued guidelines, the BCCI emphasized on the need of taking precaution, especially amongst the players, who are going to be playing the IPL matches, to prevent the spread of the virus.

The BCCI said, team owners, players, and support staff have been urged to exercise greater vigilance and care in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 during the IPL.  With the pandemic still raging on, it is imperative that all stakeholders involved in the tournament remain extra cautious to avoid any potential outbreaks.

Notably, in the last 24 hours, India registered over 5,000 new cases of the Wuhan Virus, taking the overall tally of active cases to over 25,000.
