The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) imposed a hefty fine on cricketers Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.

As per sources, the BCCI imposed a fine of 100% match fees from the two players, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir.  Notably, the fine decision was taken after the BCCI took a serious note of the incident that happened during the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on the 1st of May, Monday.

The high drama fight took place  when Virat Kohli had a heated argument with Lucknow pacer Naveen-ul-Haq, while shaking hands.  At this point Maxwell came and stopped the fight from getting bigger.  After that, while Virat Kohli was talking to the Lucknow opener, Gautam Gambhir, the coach of the LSG team, came and took Meyers aside. In this order, an argument took place between Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli.   The bawl happened after the fight between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq, which was later reported to the BCCI.  Taking the matter seriously, the  BCCI lashed out at the players of both the teams and have expressed outrage over the violation of the IPL Code of Conduct.

After both Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir admitted breaching the Level 2 provision under Article 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct, the BCCI fined them of their 100% fees of the match.   In addition, Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was fined 50% of the match fee for causing this brawl. 

According to the fine imposed by the BCCI, Virat Kohli would pay a fine of Rs.1.07 crores, whereas Gautam Gambhir would pay a fine of Rs. 25 lakh.  In addition,  Naveen-ul-Haq would pay a fine of Rs.1.79 lakhs.
