The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on the evening of the 12th of September, Monday, announced its squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s Twenty 20 World Cup 2022.

According to the BCCI announcement, the 15 member squad would be led by Rohit Sharma, the Captain of the team.  In addition, K.L. Rahul would be the Vice Captain of the team, which also includes strong players like Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal and Jasprit Bumrah.

The team has been announced for the world cup, which is to take place in Australia next month, October.  Notably, Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah return to the squad after missing the Asia Cup due to injury.  However, Ravindra Jadeja who was ruled out of the Asia Cup after sustaining an injury against Pakistan continues to be sidelined.

Rahul (Vice Captain,) Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Rishabh Pant (Wicket Keeper,) Dinesh Karthik (Wicket Keeper,) Hardik Pandya, R. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal, Axar Patel, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh.

In addition, standby players are: Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar.

In addition, the ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on the 22nd of October, in Australia.
