The West Bengal Industry Minister Mr. Partha Chatterjee is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged school jobs scam.  The ED started the investigation on the 23rd of July and arrested Mr. Partha Chatterjee, the General Secretary of the TMC, regarding the alleged recruitment scam.

Notably, the matter is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate.

Meanwhile, after the revelation of the Job Scam, the Students’ Federation of India (SFI,) the student wing of CPI(M), staged a protest demanding action against the accused in the West Bengal school jobs scam.  This has come after the ED arrested minister Partha Chatterjee for allegedly offering jobs in lieu of money.

The chaos in West Bengal amid the job scam is going deeper, with the Enforcement Directorate officials conducting several raids at the residence of a close aide of Mr. Partha Chatterjee.  Recently, on the 26th and the 27th of July, the ED officials conducted raids at two houses and recovered over Rs. 28 crore cash along with 5 kgs of gold.

In addition, the Trinamool Congress President and West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee finally broke her silence on the corruption charges on Trinamool Congress minister Partha Chatterjee. “Friends, I am sad and disheartened at the attitude of the ED.”  In addition, the TMC leaders demanded to sack Mr. Partha Chatterjee for this alleged scam, during the time he was the Education Minister of West Bengal.

Digging deep, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted an 8-hour raid on the second flat of Arpita Mukherjee, an aide of the former Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee.  During the raid, the ED recovered nearly Rs. 28 crores in cash, 5 kgs gold, and several land deeds.  The ED officials seized 10 trunks filled with cash.

In another development in the matter, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee’s personal secretary Mr. Sukanta Acharya, for questioning in the SSC Job Scam.

The SSC job scam is being investigated and the Enforcement Directorate is grilling many politicians and their close aides.
