On Wednesday, Prime Minister Modi announced his Government will establish a defense industrial production corridor in Bundelkhand. The corridor which will be between Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will cost Rs. 20,000 crores.

Modi also stated this project would generate jobs for over 250,000 people. It will also bring development in one of the poorest regions in India. The Bundelkhand corridor will connect Agra, Aligarh, Lucknow, Kanpur, Jhansi and Chitrakoot.

While addressing the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit Modi said, “I am making an important announcement. In this year’s budget, we had announced that we will establish two defense industrial production corridors. One of them will be in Bundelkhand.”

During the Budget session, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced the development of two corridors. The first one will be built between Chennai and Bengaluru. This corridor will connect Kattupalli Port, Chennai, Tiruchi, Coimbatore and Hosur.
