On the 14th of June, Tuesday, Mr. Rajnath Singh, the Union Defence Minister of India, launched a new defense recruitment model called the ‘Agnipath’.  The new model was launched after being approved by the Union Cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) for the betterment of the armed forces in India.

As per the newly launched Agnipath scheme, young soldiers would get released after four years of service, paving way for the new ones who want to serve the nation in the Indian Army.

After the announcement, Mr. Rajnath Singh addressed a press conference, “The Cabinet Committee on Security has taken a historic decision today to approve the transformative scheme of ‘Agnipath’.  Under this, Indian youth would be granted an opportunity to get inducted into the Armed services.”

Mr. Rajnath Singh further added, “Under the ‘Agnipath’ scheme, efforts are to create a youthful profile of the Armed forces.

It would help to train them for new technologies & also improve their health levels. This scheme will increase employment opportunities with new skills in different sectors.”

Furthermore, the Union Minister said under the new recruitment scheme, there would be a good exit package for the soldiers, called “Agnivirs” after four years of their service.

The new scheme for recruiting in the Indian Army would give a new technology-based recruitment process and better services to the Indian Army.
