The Union Home Ministry Affairs issued a notice allowing movement of all the migrant workers, students and tourists stranded due to the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19.

On the 29th of April, the Union Home Ministry issued an order regarding the same.  According to the issued notice, the states were asked to appoint nodal bodies and draw up protocols for the migrants’ movement.  The sending and the receiving states were directed to hold talks before the shifting of the workers, students, tourists and pilgrims.

In addition, people shifting would be screened for the Novel Coronavirus infection and if they are negative, can move from one state to another.

To conduct the shifting, special sanitised buses would be used with social distancing, mask wearing and sanitizing rules.

After they reach their native places, all the passengers would require to go for self isolation after screening at their respective states.

Meanwhile, India reported a total of 31,656 cases of the Novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 with 1,010 fatalities till the 29th of April.
