The Union Government issued a new set of the Wuhan Virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines for travellers coming from abroad to India.

Starting today, the 13th of February, travellers coming to India from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore would no longer be required to furnish a pre-departure Wuhan Virus test report.  In addition, the Central Government also issued orders and also dropped the mandate to upload the ‘Air Suvidha’ form for international passengers and national passengers coming from abroad.

However, the Union Ministry did not revoke the orders to conduct random 2% sample testing of the Wuhan Virus infection. Like earlier, the random testing of those coming from foreign countries would be in effect, until further notice.

The new guidelines would be in effect from the 13th of February, 11:00 A.M.

It is to be noted, the new guidelines were announced amid the decreasing number of Novel Coronavirus, across the world.  In the last 4 weeks, the countries mentioned above witnessed a “sustained and significant decline in the trajectory of COVID-19 cases.   As per the World Health Organisation (WHO,) the world recorded a decline of 89% in the number of newly confirmed cases in the past 28 days.

Meanwhile, the number of active COVID-19 cases in India increased to 1,843. The death toll stands at 5,30,750, as per the data updated at 8:00 A.M., on the 13th of February.
