In 2016, two Pakistani boys were arrested as suspected guides for the terrorists who carried out attacks on the Army Camp in Uri. On Wednesday, the NIA released these two suspects citing their innocence. In a closing report, the NIA said that Faisal Hussain Awan and Ahsan Khursheed were innocent and not involved in any terror activity.

The NIA also released that these two Pakistan occupied Kashmir residents had crossed into the border after a fight with their parents over studies and had no connection to terror activities. The Indian Army 16 Corps Headquarters have been levied with the responsibility of sending these two boys back to the PoK, by the NIA.

An initial report stated that the two boys were being let out as a goodwill gesture in return for Pakistan’s recent release of Indian Army Jawan Chandu Chavan who crossed the border into PoK last year.
