Indian Army lost three soldiers who belonged to 57 Rashtriya Rifles. The body of one of them was brutally mutilated by Pakistani troops at the Line of Control (LoC), adjacent to the Manchal sector in the Kupwara district, Kashmir. The names of the martyred soldier’s body were identified as gunner Manoj K. Kushwah 31, from Uttar Pradesh, rifleman Prabhu Singh, 25 year old, from Rajasthan and rifleman Shashank K. Singh, 25 from Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred when the team was heading for counter infiltration patrolling and were spotted by the terrorists before the latter could spot them.

This is the second incident after BSF head constable Rai Singh,39 was killed on Sunday night by the Pakistani army in Rajouri sector of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army’s Northern Command said, “Three soldiers have been killed in action on the LoC in Machhal. The body of one soldier has been mutilated. Retribution will be heavy for this cowardly act.” Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar asked the Indian Army to “retaliate in the strongest possible manner” after he was briefed about the incident that had taken place.mango-news-3-1

The situation has worsened after the surgical strikes took place across the Line of Control (LoC) in September this year. A soldier of the 17th Sikh Regiment, Mandeep Singh was mutilated by terrorists in the same sector in Manchil, Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army to a daily said, “Barbarism is a true reflection which pervades official and non-official organisations across the border. In a despicable act, the terrorist mutilated the body of an Indian Army soldier before fleeing into PoK, supported by covering fire from Pakistani army posts”.jk3

The Indian Army said that Border Action Team(BAT) had killed the three soldiers. The defence sources said,“The attack was carried out by Pakistan army commandos and irregulars who crossed the LoC and ambushed the patrol party”.

The Indian Army has said that retribution will be heavy and will give a fitting response to the incidents that has taken the life of our martyred soldiers.
