Srinagar: On Friday night, the most wanted terrorist Burhan Wani was killed in an encounter. He was 22 and the commander of the terror group Hizbul Mujahideen. After the death of the Wani, tension rose in several parts of the city. His body has been handed over to his family members in Tral.

The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended temporarily and also the board exams of the school have been postponed. Mobile internet services have been blocked and the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has also been closed.

The train services from Baramulla to Banihal town in Jammu have been suspended. Many separatist leaders including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Syed Ali Geelani are under house arrest as they have called for a valley-wide shutdown to protest against the death of Burhan Wani.
