Shah Rukh Khan is one of the few actors who has time and again shown his support to women and raised his voice against exploitation of women. He has taken a firm stand and shown support by constantly talking about it. SRK has openly condemned the mass molestation event of Bengaluru that happened on New Year’s eve. This rule he applies even to his sons Aryan and AbRam.

In a recent interview with Femina, SRK said the same about teaching his sons never to hurt anyone, especially women. He said, “I tell Aryan and even AbRam to never hurt a woman. If you do, I’ll behead you. And no, times have not changed. A girl is not your chhadi-buddy; show some respect.” He also put a strict rule to Aryan about the way he addresses any girl. SRK has strictly prohibited using the word ‘Tu’ for any girl. He said, Aryan is not allowed to say, “Tu pizza le aa, tu idhar aa is not how you address women. Show some respect.” Reminiscing an event while working Shah Rukh shared about how he had differences with Aditya Chopra while working on “Jab Tak Hai Jaan.” He specifically doesn’t work in movies where women are disrespected, he said, “Adi (director Aditya Chopra) and I always have fights over dialogue where I’m supposed to say to my mother in Punjabi, ‘Tu kya kar Rahi hai.’ How can I address my screen mother with ‘tu’—but they forced me to in “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”.”

In the same interview, he also said that he would behead Aryan and AbRam if they ever disrespected any women and caused any harm to their modesty. Father of a girl and two boys, SRK said about anyone wanting to date Suhana, should “Get a job, understand that I don’t like you, I’m everywhere, whatever you do to her, I will do to you.”

This is the kind of change that India needs! Instead of telling a girl how to dress, how to behave, how to talk, not to stay out late nights, teaching every son to respect women is important. SRK has with these statements set an example for parents on how to raise their sons!
