The Indian National Congress President Sonia Gandhi, was admitted to Sri Ganga Ram hospital on Tuesday. The doctors said that she is suffering from food poisoning and will be discharged soon. The hospital said Mrs. Gandhi had been admitted since Sunday evening.

D.S. Rana, Chairman of the managing board of hospital said, “Sonia Gandhi was admitted to the hospital on Sunday due to food poisoning. She is well now and will be discharged soon.” Gandhi has disappearing from the political scenario quite frequently over the last few months.

Sonia’s health has also been doing the rounds in political circles. She was admitted to the same hospital in February after complaining of breathlessness. It was reported that this was due to weather changes and Sonia was discharged after few days in the hospital’s care.

Sonia Gandhi was also absent from campaigning for the Assembly Elections in the Country at the start of the year. She also was reported sick in November 2016, after developing a high fever. In a similar incident, at a roadshow in Varanasi in August 2016, she fell ill as a part of the show. Rumors of Gandhi suffering from cancer have also been doing the rounds in the media.
