Mumbai: Driver Shyamvar Rai, who is one of the accused in the murder case of Sheena Bora, turned approver. A special court on Monday accepted the plea of Indrani Mukherjee’s former driver, who is the witness in the murder case, to be made an approver. The court has also granted him pardon.
In May 2016, Shyamvar Rai moved an application seeking to turn an approver in return for a pardon. In his application, he said he wants to disclose all the facts of the murder. CBI said that they have no objection to making Rai an approver. He also confessed that he along with Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani had strangled Sheena inside a car in April 2012.
The main accused, Indrani Mukherjee, mother of Sheena Bora, is in Byculla Jail. Indrani’s husband Peter and former husband Sanjeev Khanna are lodged at Arthur Road Jail.
