Senior Advocate Rajeev Dhavan decided to reconsider quitting the Supreme Court. Dhavan walked out on practicing law after a spat with Chief Justice Dipak Misra on the 11th of December. The Advocate described him leaving the Court as a humiliating end. Mr. Dhavan’s hesitation comes after a request from a client in the Ram Janamabhoomi and Babri Masjid dispute case.

The Advocate representing the Muslim Bodies in the Ayodhya Case, Ejaz Maqbool explained he had urged Mr. Dhavan to represent the case. The Senior Counsel accepted the request and the senior lawyer was attending hearings at the case.

Maqbool was quoted saying, “We requested him (Dhavan) to make an exception for the Babri Masjid Case and he has accepted our request and he will continue to appear for us in the Babri Masjid case.” He further added, “He (Mr. Dhavan) will be writing a letter to the Chief Justice of India that he will continue to appear in his pending matters.”

Mr. Dhavan is likely to return to the Apex Court to represent the Muslim bodies in the ongoing Ayodhya dispute case.
