On the 22nd of February, Tuesday, the Dubai Civil Aviation removed the requirement of RT-PCR test for the Wuhan virus (COVID-19,) for Indian travellers.

With this, Indian travelers do not need to undergo RT-PCR Wuhan virus test at the airport, before leaving for the United Arab Emirates (UAE.) The Dubai Airport issued an advisory and updated the travel requirements for passengers from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

However, under the fresh advisory, Indian nationals must produce a negative COVID-19 test certificate taken up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight, from an approved health service provider. Later, after the passengers reach Dubai, the passenger needs to undergo a RT PCR test.

The responsibility of ensuring that the conditions of travel are met will be taken care by the airline operators. The revision in travel requirements would ease the situation for a large number of Indians who either reside in or travel frequently to the city.
