The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Mr. Jay Shah, on the 28th of January, announced Ranji Trophy 2022.  Notably Mr. Shah announced the prestigious game, scheduled in two phases.

Notably, league matches would be conducted in Phase-I, while the knockouts would be held in June as Phase II. Earlier, on the 4th of January, the board postponed the Ranji Trophy amid the Wuhan virus pandemic.

Mr. Shah said, “My team working closely to mitigate any kind of health risk caused by the pandemic while ensuring a highly competitive red-ball cricket contest. Ranji Trophy is our most prestigious domestic competition, which has been providing Indian Cricket with an enviable talent pool.”

However, the BCCI is planning to finish matches before knockouts in June.
