On the 19th of February, Saturday, the Union Defence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh visited Uttar Pradesh.

The visit of Mr. Rajnath Singh was in the view of the third phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, scheduled on the 20th of February. One of the star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Mr. Rajnath Singh, during campaigning said, if the BJP is voted in power, the Yogi Adityanath Government would provide free LPG cylinders to the citizens on Holi and Diwali, every year.

Addressing a public meeting at Colonelganj in Uttar Pradesh’s Gonda, Mr. Rajnath Singh said, “If voted to power in UP again, (the) BJP Government will provide free LPG gas cylinders on the occasion of Holi and Diwali every year. ”

While talking about the chances of BJP in the first and second phase of the U.P., Assembly elections, Mr. Rajnath Singh claimed, “Poll analysts and survey agencies have stated that in the first two phases, (the) BJP is getting more or less the same number of seats it won in the last Assembly elections.”

Notably, the UP elections started from the 10th of February, and so far completed two phases, on the 10th of February and the 14th of February. The third phase of the elections are scheduled on the 20th of February.

The polling in the third phase would be held for 59 Assembly seats in 16 districts.

Meanwhile, the other four phases are scheduled on the 23rd of February, 27th of February, the 3rd of March and the 7th of March.

The results for the 403 Assembly seats Uttar Pradesh elections would be released on the 10th of March.
