Mr. Rahul Gandhi, the former President of the Indian National Congress (INC) would visit the Golden Temple in Amritsar, Punjab, before starting the Bharat Jodo Yatra (BJY) in Punjab.

On the 10th of January, Tuesday, Mr. Rahul Gandhi led BJY concluded its yatra in Haryana and would enter Punjab, the next State.  However, prior to entering Punjab, the Indian National Congress delegation of the BJY would worship at the Golden Temple.

The updates of the BJY and Mr. Rahul Gandhi were confirmed by Mr. Jairam Ramesh, the General Secretary of the INC.  On Tuesday, he tweeted, “Day 116 — Bharat Jodo Yatra finishes Haryana leg in Ambala now.  2mrw morning is Punjab leg.  There can be no better way to begin that than with a pilgrimage to the holiest Golden Temple in Amritsar. There’ll be no padyatra this afternoon so that Rahul Gandhi can pay his respects there.”

The Bharat Jodo Yatra is an initiative taken by the Indian National Congress to raise voices against issues like unemployment, prices hike of essential commodities, restrictions on freedom of speech and collapsing democracy in India.  Mr. Rahul Gandhi started the BJY from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to oppose the dictatorship rule of the PM Narendra Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party.

Starting on the 7th of September 2022, the Bharat Jodo Yatra covered the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana.  It would enter Punjab on the 11th of January, followed by Jammu and Kashmir and would conclude the yatra in Himachal Pradesh, on the 30th of January.
