Prime Minister Narendra Modi would address the nation on the 12th of May at 8:00 P.M.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO,) on the 12th of May, took to Twitter and made an official announcement regarding the same.

The Tweet read, “Narendra Modi will be addressing the nation at 8 p.m. this evening.”

This will be the Prime Minister’s fourth special address to the nation in the last two months. The Prime Minister first addressed the nation on the 18th of March and appealed to the people to observe ‘Janata Curfew’ between 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on March 22.  The second such address was on the 24th of March, and announced a nation wide lockdown till the 14th of April.  Later on the 14th of April, he announced lockdown 2.0, till the 3rd of May.

Recently on the 1st of May, the Union Government announced an extension to the lockdown till the 17th of May.

Mr. Modi’s address comes a day after  he conducted a video conference meeting with chief ministers of Indian states.  On the 11th of May, Narendra Modi conducted a video conference to discuss the lockdown and the situation in respective states due to the Novel Coronavirus infection.

In today’s address to the nation, Mr. Modi is expected to speak about the lockdown and situation due to the Novel Coronavirus and might announce another lockdown.

However, an official announcement regarding the lockdown would be cleared after today’s address to the citizens of India at 8:00 P.M.
