The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have been apprehending a number of fishermen with their boats on the International Maritime Border Line (IMBL). Another such case came to the light where 23 fishermen along with four boats were captured by the PMSA on Wednesday, and were headed to Karachi.
Manish Lodhari, National Fishworkers’ Forum Secretary said, “We have learned that at least 23 fishermen on four boats were apprehended by the PMSA near Jakhau and they were being taken to Karachi.”
On April 9th, the PMSA were making rounds and were on the verge of capturing 40 fishermen on 7 boats. They failed as their boat capsized causing four of their commandos to drown but another two were rescued by Indian fishermen. The PMSA reciprocated by releasing the 23 captured fishermen for their help.
