On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, on the 16th of April, Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, unveiled a 108 feet statue of Lord Hanuman.  The statue was established under the “Hanumanji Char Dham Project.”

 

Under the “Hanumanji Char Dham Project,” the Central Government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would install 4 statues, across the country.  Today’s 108 feet statue was unveiled in Morbi, Gujarat, through video conferencing.

After inaugurating the statue, Mr. Narendra Modi tweeted, “Today, we mark the special occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.  In Morbi, at 11 AM, a 108 feet statue of Hanuman ji will be inaugurated. During the launch event, Mr. Narendra Modi said, “we have been seeing a similar grand Hanuman statue in Shimla for years now.  The second has been established in Morbi today.  I have been told that two more statues will be established in Rameswaram and West Bengal.”  He further added, “This is not just a resolution for the establishment of Hanuman ji’s statues but it is also a part of the resolution for ‘Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat.’

After this launch, two more statues of Lord Hanuman are scheduled to be unveiled in Rameswaram (Tamil Nadu) and West Bengal. Meanwhile, the first project of the Hanumanji Char Dham was established in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh in 2010.
