Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 8th of August, will address the Nation in a special broadcast at 8:00 P.M.

During the broadcast, Mr. Modi is expected to explain the necessity of scrapping Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, which provided special status to the State.  He will also explain the reason for bifurcating Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories (UTs,) Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.

The decision of the Modi led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to revoke Article 370 raised a lot of questions and criticism against the ruling Government of India.

During today’s broadcast, it is expected Mr. Modi will answer all the questions and clear the doubts of the Nation.

This is not the first time the Prime Minister will address the Nation in a special broadcast.  Previously, Modi addressed the Nation on the 27th of March and announced about the anti satellite missile (A-Sat) launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO.)
