Prime Minister Narendra Modi, conducted a meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The meeting was organised to discuss the second stimulus package for financial aid during the pandemic crisis due to the Novel Coronavirus.

According to sources, Mr. Modi discussed the financial crisis and economic strategy to curb the spread of the Coronavirus in the State.

Ms. Sitharaman also submitted a detailed presentation regarding the economic sistuation in India and the future course of action to sustain the situation.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also scheduled to have follow up meetings regarding the same.  

The decision to announce a second package of financial aid was made after the Union Government extended the nationwide lockdown for the 3rd time.

The Union Minsitry of Home Affairs (MHA) extended the lockdown till the 17th of May to curb the spread of the Novel Coronavirus.

However, this time, the lockdown guidelines would be followed in Red Zones and Orange Zones, whereas Green Zones would have ease in the lockdown.

The Union Home Ministry announced 130 districts across the India to be under the Red Zone.
