On the 70th birthday of Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes.
Mr. Modi took to Twitter and extended birthday greetings. Mr. Modi said, “Dear @rajinikanth Ji, wishing you a Happy Birthday! May you lead a long and healthy life.”
The actor turned politician, Superstar Rajinikanth turned 70 years old on the 12th of December. He celebrated his 70th birthday as a small affair with his family in Chennai.
However, fans of the Superstar also known asThalaiva, celebrated Rajinikanth’s birthday across Chennai and Mumbai in a grand way.
Fans of the actor gathered outside his residence in Chennai, to wish him on his birthday.
This year’s birthday of Mr. Rajinikanth is extra special as he announced to launch his own political party.
After years of speculation, Rajinikanth recently announced his decision to launch a political party and contest the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Mr. Rajinikanth would make an official announcement regarding his political party on the 31st of December.
Celebrities like Mahesh Babu, Khusbu Sundar, A.R. Rahman, Keerthy Suresh, Arjun Das and others wished Mr. Rajinikanth through Twitter.
Political leaders like M.K. Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam wished Mr. Rajinikanth.
In addition, Sun Pictures, who are bankrolling Rajnikanth’s next project Annaatthe, on the 12th of December, released a special video for Rajinikanth’s birthday.
The video features director Siva who conveyed his wishes for the superstar and revealed that the shooting of the film would resume from the 15th of December.
Annaatthe was officially launched in 2019 December in Chennai in a low key affair. The shooting started in February, before it had to come to a standstill in light of the pandemic.
