During the ongoing Rajya Sabha session of the Budget Parliament Session, the opposition walked out.

The opposition including the Indian National Congress (INC) staged a walkout after the Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu rejected the ”Suspension of Business Notice.”

The notice was proposed to discuss the ongoing farmers protest against the Central Government’s three farm bills.

Mr. Naidu while rejecting the notice said, the discussion on farmers’ protest would begin from the 3rd of February, not today, the 2nd of February.

Mr. Naidu said, “The President has referred to farmers’ agitation in his address.  I wanted the discussion to start today but I was told that the discussion first starts in Lok Sabha.  Keeping this in mind we have agreed to have a discussion on (the) President’s address tomorrow.”

In today’s session, the opposition is likely to question the Union Budget 2021-2022, presented by the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

On the 1st of February, the Union FM, presented the historic Budget of India for fiscal year (FY) 2021-2022.

While discussing, the opposition described the Union Budget as a major “let down like never before.”

Later,  a protest  by the opposition members on new farm laws broke out.

Due to the protest from opposition, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 11:30 A.M.  This is the second adjournment of the day, the first was till 10:30 A.M., due to the same ruckus during the session.

Meanwhile, after resuming session at 11:30, the Parliament Session of Rajya Sabha is likely to table the bills mentioned below.

Bills scheduled to be tabled in Rajya Sabha today:
