On the night of the 9th of May, Monday, a minor explosion, said to be due to rocket firing reported outside the intelligence office of Punjab Police in Mohali.  The matter raised concerns with the involvement of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for the investigation.

The explosion happened around 8:00 P.M., in Mohali, but no casualty or property damage has been reported by the State Police.  Furthermore, when asked about the possibility of terror attack, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Ravinder Pal Singh ruled out claims and said, this is not a terror attack, but they would not ignore it and would conduct a detailed investigation in the minor explosion.

Meanwhile, the NIA is also in touch with the Punjab Police to probe the Mohali attack case and believes that Khalistani groups are thriving in Punjab that has carried out the attack after conducting reconnaissance of the area. 

It is to be noted that the Union Home Ministry is likely to form an investigation team from Delhi to probe the matter with the NIA and Punjab Police.
