Ms. Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) President and Chief Minister of  West Bengal (WB) announced the names of six candidates for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha Polls.  

Of the six named candidates, three candidates are those who have been renamed for the Rajya Sabha elections.  Notably, the Rajya Sabha Elections are to be held on 7 Rajya Sabha seats in West Bengal on the 24th of July.   

Furthermore, the tenure for the six Rajya Sabha members from West Bengal would come to an end includes that of Mr. Derek O’Brien,  Ms. Dola Sen, Mr. Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Ms. Shanta Chhetri and Ms. Sushmita Dev have been filed for the MP candidates.  In addition, the three new faces nominated are Mr. Samirul Islam, Mr. Prakash Chik Baraik and the party’s national spokesperson Mr. Saket Gokhale.
