In a shocking incident captured on video, a woman legislator representing Thane district in Maharashtra was seen slapping a civic engineer in a public confrontation.

On the 21st of June, the video quickly went viral on social media, and has ignited a wave of mixed reactions from netizens.

The footage shows Ms. Geeta Jain, the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Mira Bhayandar, engaged in a heated exchange with two engineers from the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation.  The altercation reportedly stemmed from the engineers’ involvement in the demolition of specific structures, leaving occupants, including children, without shelter just days before the arrival of the monsoon season.

During the confrontation, Geeta Jain is seen berating the engineers, questioning their authority to do the demolitions. She demanded that they provide a Government Resolution (GR) as evidence to justify their actions. The situation escalated further when Jain slapped one of the engineers, intensifying the tense atmosphere.
