On the 2nd of March, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha sessions have been adjourned till 11:00 A.M., of the 3rd of March, over the Delhi riots issues.

The second phase of the 2020 Budget session started on the 2nd of March, and adjourned after a few other parties protested against the BJP.

The Indian National Congress (INC) leaders and other opposition parties staged blind fold protests outside the Parliament in Delhi seeking  answers from the BJP over the Delhi riots.

Adhiranjan Kumar, a leader of the INC moved a motion to adjourn the ongoing Lok Sabha session.

The session which started at 11:00 A.M., and was adjourned thrice, following which it was adjourned for the day.  Members of the INC, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM,) the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI[M],) and others  started shouting slogans, demanding answers and the resignation of the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.

Asaduddin Owaisi, the President of the AIMIM, said, “”This was not a riot. This was a genocide, allowed by the Delhi Police. The government kept silent. All that the PM did was to tweet on this. Why can’t the PM speak on Delhi violence? He knows that a former BJP MP was the one who incited the violence. We all know what Anurag Thakur said.”

Finally, due to the ruckus  outside the Parliament, Om Birla, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha adjourned the Budget Session and said, “I am very upset at what happened in (the) House.  In such circumstances, I cannot conduct the House.  The House is adjourned till tomorrow. Both sides are blaming each other.”

The Delhi riots which started on the 24th of February, took the lives of 43 people and left more than 250 people injured.  The riots which are claimed to be communal one between Hindus and Muslims, started over the Citizenship (Amendment) Act [CAA,] 2019, implemented by the BJP.

The second phase of the Budget Session would begin at 11:00 A.M., on the 3rd of March and would continue for a month, till the 3rd of April.
