Mr. K. Vijay Kumar, a decorated police officer, who was credited for eliminating forest brigand Veerappan, has resigned as the senior security advisor in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

On the 15th of October, Saturday, Mr. K. Vijay Kumar, who put in his papers sometime ago due to personal reasons, has vacated his accommodation in Delhi and relocated to Chennai. In the resignation letter, Mr. K. Vijay Kumar said, “I am now based in Chennai after I decided to end my stint with the MHA due to personal reasons.”

Furthermore, Mr. K. Vijay Kumar expressed his gratitude towards Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India and Mr. Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister of India.  He also extended his gratitude to Mr. Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor and other officials of the MHA who cooperated with Mr. K. Vijay Kumar, during his tenure.

Notably, Mr. K. Vijay Kumar was appointed as the senior security advisor to the MHA in 2019 and served till October 2022.
