On the 27th of January, a grenade attack took place on a highway near Shamshipura in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Speaking about the incident, Colonel Rajesh Kalia, the Indian Army’s spokesperson said, “Terrorists lobbed grenade on Army’s Road Opening Party during the sanitisation drill at 1015 hours today in general area Shamshipura, Khanabal, Kulgam. Four soldiers sustained splinter injuries. Provided first aid and have been evacuated to 92 Base Hospital.”

The attack took place when the officials were conducting a sanitization drill in the general area of Shamshipura area.

As per sources, the four personnel suffered splinter injuries and are currently at the Army hospital.

As of now, the Jammu and Kashmir police cordoned off the area and are investigating the attack.
