Jammu And Kashmir: Encounter Breaks Out In Shopian District

On the 8th of December, Wednesday, a gun fight broke out between militants and the Jammu and Kashmir security forces.

According to sources, the fight broke out in the Chek Cholan area of Shopian district, South Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter started today morning after the security forces cordoned off the area based on input of the militants’ presence.

Three militants are believed to be in custody of the Jammu and Kashmir police.

Furthermore, the Jammu and Kashmir Police Spokesperson took to Twitter and updated about the developments. He said, “Encounter started at Check Cholan area of #Shopian. Police and security forces are on duty. Further details shall follow.”

The encounter is underway and details are awaited.
