Israel Prime Minister Mr. Naftali Bennett, who was scheduled to visit India, has now postponed his tour.  Notably, on the 28th of March, Monday, PM Naftali Bennett tested positive for the Wuhan virus, also known as the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19.)

Mr. Muhamed Heib, the Spokesperson of the Israel Embassy in India, on the 29th of March, Tuesday, confirmed the same and said the visit which was scheduled for the 3rd to 5th of April, would now be rescheduled.

In 2021, the Israel Government announced PM’s visit to India, at the invitation of Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India.  The trip was scheduled for the first week of April, which also marks the commemoration of 30 years of diplomatic relations between India and Israel.

Meanwhile, recently in November 2021 during the UN Climate Change Conference (COP 26) the Israeli PM and Indian PM met. They also had a telephonic conversation on August 16, 2021.

The visit was organized to strengthen bilateral talks and diplomatic relations between the two nations, India and Israel.

On the other hand, amid the new variant of the Wuhan virus, Omicron, the nation is witnessing a slight surge of COVID-19 cases.
