At the Indonesia Open Tournament, Badminton player P. V. Sindhu beat Aya Ohori from Japan to enter the quarter finals. The Olympic silver medalist beat the Japanese player in an easy game with the score 21-17, 21-14.  

The Indonesia Open BWF World Tour Super 1000 Tournament is being held at Jakarta. Sindhu celebrated the massive victory on the eve of her 23rd birthday. The third best player in the world beat Japan’s Ohori for the fifth time in her career.  

The World’s third best Badminton player will go up against Busanan Ongbamrungphan from Thailand or China’s He Bingjiao in her next match.

In the men’s single league. H. S. Prannoy also entered the quarter finals after defeating Wang Tzu Wei from Taiwan. Prannoy lost his opening match by recovered by defeating the Taiwan player by 21-23, 21-15, 21-13. Prannoy is likely to play against All England champion Shi Yuqi from China in the quarter finals.  

Indian star cricketer Virender Sehwag wished the Badminton player on Twitter for her birthday.
