On the 30th of November, Tuesday, the Indian Army received Heron drones, imported from Israel.

The addition of Israel’s Heron drones would enhance surveillance capabilities of the Indian Army at the Ladakh border. The advanced drones would be deployed at Eastern Ladakh to keep a check on China’s activities and Chinese troops, especially when India and China are engaged in conflict over border issues. The new four drones are more capable than the current weapon in operation at the Ladakh Border.

The Union Defence Ministry procured these high quality, advanced Heron drones under the Emergency Financial Power, granted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Government.

The new weapons will be operational at Line of Actual Control (LAC,) Ladakh, Intensifying the surveillance operation of the Indian Army.
